Year 5 - Viking Day 2017
Year 5 held a Viking Day which was run by Viking specialist Julia Rowland.
The aim of Viking Day was to get the children involved, in a few activities and exercises that would bring what the children had been researching to life. Some of the activities the children took part in included: a "shield wall drill", a weapon's display, trying on chain mail, investigating replica artefacts (drinking horns, household objects, furs, antlers), roleplaying, storytelling and a Viking funeral.
