Early Help

Early help aims to identify families that need help early, so that the right services can work together with families to provide the right support before problems become more complex. Early help is about broadly supporting children and young people aged 0 to 19 years and their families, whenever these challenges emerge.

The school is keen to work closely with families and professionals in order to get the right help and support as early as possible.

If your family are facing challenges and would like further support, please speak to a member of our DSL team.

Staying Safe Online

We teach the children all the way from Nursery upwards about how to stay safe and behave safely online.  Please help your child by having these conversations at home too.

LGfL- DigiSafe has created the 'Undressed' resource for young children, parents and professionals about the issue of sharing inappropriate information online.  This catchy song can be a helpful way into a conversation about online information sharing.

Talking About Consent

It is essential that we start to teach children about consent as, with so many things, habits established in childhood will often be the most enduring.

The RSHE curriculum (DfE, 2019) states that in relationships education in primary school: “Pupils should be taught how to take turns, how to treat each other with kindness, consideration and respect, the importance of honesty and truthfulness, permission-seeking and giving, and the concept of personal privacy.

“Establishing personal space and boundaries, showing respect and understanding the differences between appropriate and inappropriate or unsafe physical, and other, contact – these are the forerunners of teaching about consent, which takes place at secondary.”

The key at this age is to establish the idea of boundaries and consent in the broadest possible way with younger students.

We focus on this in school and wanted to share some resources to support talking about consent at home:https://www.aardman.com/latest-news/aardman-consent-film-opcc
