Our intent for art across the school is that children become confident in expressing themselves through a variety of artistic media, and learn to appreciate a diverse range of art.
We aim to enable pupils to communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of colour (and tone), texture, form, pattern, space, different materials and processes (including sculpture and monumental architecture). Topics are delivered with the support of Cornerstones. Our curriculum enables the children to experience a range of art styles and builds skills progressively through the school. Children are encouraged to review and refine their work through supportive discussion with peers, and to build resilience through trying new techniques.
